The Baby Bump and Our First Sonogram!

Today we went for our first sonogram. We are 8 weeks and 1 day along. That makes our due date October 8. We got to see the baby's heartbeat. It was 156 beats per minute. We also were able to see it's little arms and legs. It was such a neat experience and makes it feel so real. Here is a little bit about what is going on with the baby. The baby is about an inch long. The tail is now gone and the arms and feet (complete with fingers and toes) have formed, along with eyes (eyelids sealed shut), ears, a nose tip, and a tongue. All major organs and systems are presents, but still have a great deal of developing to do. The embryo make spontaneous movements tough it will be many weeks before they will be felt. The placenta, which will serve as the baby's support system, is busily being built. I am now starting to show. Some of you may not be able to tell in the picture but Scott and I can. I will post a picture of the sonogram later when Scott can scan it at work. We are on our way to Waxahachie to look for houses! Yeah!!!

COMING SOON!!!

We have some BIG news for everyone. Last Wednesday night we found out we were expecting. In shock we wanted to make sure so we took a second pregnacy test Thursday morning. They both came out postive. We had our first prenatal visit yesterday (Valentine's Day). Everything went good. We have our first Sonogram on Febuary 28th to find out exactly how far along I am. I think I am about 5 or 6 weeks. We are very excited!!! Our parents are excited as well. Scott got sick with a virus or someting on Wednesday night. He was bad. I tried to stay away from him so I slept on the couch. I felt bad about not taking care of him but I didn't want to get sick. He was able to go to the doctor with me on Thursday. I told him "Maybe you are pregnant too." I have been pretty nauseated but am making it. We didn't do much on Valentine's but lay around the house. I got a cute pajama set and I gave Scott a Money Clip. We are very blessed. Please keep us in your prayers.

New Recipe

Not much has been going on with us. We have been busy working and trying to get things put up that we brought back from Hutto. We got to stay home this weekend and it was so nice. We have not had a weekend to relax in a long time. We had our own Super Bowl Party just Scott and I since we don't know too many people here. Scott made some hot suce and I made a new dip. It turned out really good so I thought I would share.



Chicken Enchilada Dip



1 lb. skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened

1 (8oz) jar mayonnaise

1 (8oz) package shredded Cheddar Cheese

1 (4oz) can dieced green chile peppers

1 jalapeno pepper, finely diced



1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place chicken on medium baking sheet. ( I boiled my chicken)

2. Bake in the preheated oven 20 minutes, or until no longer pink. Remove, cool, and shred.

3. Place shredded chicken in a medium bowl, and mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, Cheddar cheese, green chile peppers and jalapeno perrer. Transfer the chicken mixture to a medium baking dish.

4. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.



I also think it might be good with sasuage instead of the chicken.

Moving

This weekend we moved out of our first house. I made it to the end without crying. Right before we left Scott and I were walking through the house looking at everything and I broke down. It is just hard knowing it is our first home together and all the hard work we put into it to make it ours. I am happy we were able to sell it though. We close on the house on February 8th. I am looking forward to finding somewhere to settle down and call home. Keep us in your prays we follow God's plan and find the right place.

FAMILY

I got on Ashley's blog today and started realized how important family is to me. I always knew how much they meant to me but I guess being so far away makes you realize it even more. We should all cherish the time we have with one another because it will never be enough. I was looking at the pictures of Morgan and Jordan. It made me cry. It reminded me of when I used to keep Morgan and when she would come stay the night with Scott and I. I miss getting to see her all of the time. She is such a special little girl and I just want her to know that. My Mom and Dad met Scott and I in Hutto this weekend and of course we went shopping. Mom and I went to Stein Mart and Dad and Scott went to Sportsman's Warehouse. My Dad loves the Hula Hut so we went and ate there one night. We enjoyed getting to spend time with them as we always do.

Unofficially Sold

We accepted an offer on our house today. We were at the house in Hutto and were working in the yard and a realtor stopped by with some customers. They were from Hawaii. We let them look at the house and went on about our work. We went to church on Sunday and had a message on our phone that there was an offer on our house. We countered-offered and then they offered again. We accepted the offer and signed the papers to get everything underway. The inspector is coming on Tuesday. This is not final because they have a 10 day option period. We are very excited but nervous at the same time. Pray that everything works out.
